UTILITY SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN I (WASTEWATER COLLECTION)

The City of Eau Claire is currently accepting applications for a Utility Systems Technician I (Wastewater Collection) in the Utilities Division of the Community Services Department. Duties include: maintenance of the sewer systems including jetting/root cutting, inspecting, and flushing sanitary and storm lines; locating utilities; record keeping; equipment operation; public contact; and manual labor.

The ideal candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, etc.), have excellent communication and computer skills, and possess or obtain (within 6 months of hire) and maintain a valid Class A, B, C, and D CDL license with tanker endorsement and no air brake restrictions. An Associate’s Degree in a related field is preferred. State of Wisconsin DNR certification in Municipal Wastewater, Sanitary Sewage Collection System, and/or Municipal Water Supply with Groundwater and Distribution in Grade 1 is also preferred.

Typical work schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with occasional overtime as required.
